Newlyweds George and Blossom (spring 1945; actual size approx. 2.2 x 2.3 in. (5.7 x 5.8 cm.)). This photo is part of a 3-by-4 composite proof of twelve small photos, two of which are almost completely hacked away. This is one of the twelve, shown here at full 300-dpi resolution. George may have shot this photo himself, using a tripod-mounted camera and timed shutter release. The scan was moder- ately retouched to eliminate extensive smearing of faint green ink at top of car, and subsequently desaturated to remove color artifacts, including remnants of green ink across George's face. The photo is defective in interesting ways: in addition to the darkened vertical strip at left we have a strange halo around the couple, almost certainly a lens aberration introduced during the shoot.
